私は70年代と80年代に幼少期を過ごしました。マイケル・ジャクソンに関する一番最初の記憶は、毎週見ていたジャクソン・ファイブの子供番組です。私はこのオープニングが大好きでした。
私はジャクソン・ファイブのビニール盤のファーストアルバムを持っていて、何度も何度も爆音でかけては歌い、踊りまくっています。うちの旦那様に聞いてごらんなさい・・・。
小さい頃は「Rockin' Robin」を一緒に歌ってくれる友達もいました。私はジャクソン・ファイブのバージョンが好きです。
マイケルのミュージックビデオで覚えている最初のものは「Can You Feel It」です。フューチャリスティックなフィーリングがその当時の流行でした。『Tron（トロン）』とか『Xanadu（ザナドゥ）』のような映画、「Buck Rogers」や「21st Century」「Battlestar Gallactica」のようなTVショウのような。
ダイアナ・ロスとマイケル・ジャクソンが共演した『The Whiz』という映画が公開されたとき、お母さんが映画館へ連れていってくれました。それは『オズの魔法使い』を全員黒人のキャスティングと都会（NYC)のセッティングでリメイクした映画でした。残念ながら、私は意地悪な魔女が怖くて、映画の途中で文字通り映画館から走って逃げ出しました・・・後ろからお母さんがくすくす笑いながらついてくる中で。そして、サウンドトラックのLPはアパートの廊下のクローゼット奥深くに隠さなければなりませんでした。魔女が、レコードをつたってどうにかして私をつかまえにやってくると思い込んでいたので。
私は、皆さんがおそらく今まで見たことも聞いたこともないようなものを共有してみたかったんです。だって、ほとんどの人たちは、特に私より若い人たちはこういうものを見る機会がなかっただろうと思ったので。マイケルの他のキャリアについては、皆さんよくご存知だと思うので。

I grew up in the 70's and 80's. My first memory of Michael Jackson is from the Jackson 5 cartoon show I watched every week. I loved this opening sequence.
I have the first Jackson 5 album on vinyl and have been known to blast it and sing and dance around to it on many occasions. You can ask my husband.....
I had a friend when I was little who I used to sing "Rockin' Robin" with also. I loved the Jackson 5 version of that.
"Can You Feel It" is the first music video I remember with Michael. The futuristic feeling was something that was in the air back then. Movies like Tron and Xanadu, TV shows like Buck Rogers and the 21st Century and Battlestar Gallactica.
My mother took me to see the movie "The Whiz" with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson when it came out in theaters. It was a remake of the Wizard of Oz with an all black cast set in an urban setting (NYC). Unfortunately I was terrified of the wicked witch and literally ran out of the theater in the middle of the movie with my mother following behind me giggling. I had to hide the soundtrack LP in the closet in the hallway of our apartment because I thought the witch could somehow come out through the record and get to me.
I just wanted to share some things with you that maybe you never had seen or heard. I figure most people, especially if they are younger than me, wouldn't have had the chance to see any of this. The rest of Michael's career you probably know about.
