皆さんはチャンピオンになりそうな犬の里親になれるなんて夢にも考えたことがないと思います。きっと血統書付きの由緒正しい犬でないとチャンピオンなんてなれない、と思っているに違いないでしょう。テルマを見てごらんなさい。テルマは私がボランティアしているシェルターから最近もらわれていった犬です。フリスビーがもともと大得意でしたが、絶対に、すごい速さでもっともっと上手になります。この子の里親たちはディスク・ドッグ競争（フリスビー）に出るのですが、私は彼女たちがどんな演技を思いつくのか見るのが待ちきれません！
この短いブログ投稿の教訓があるとすれば、こんな感じでしょうか。「里子だからという理由で犬を判断してはならない。里子の犬だって他のどんな犬にもひけをとらないくらい・・・それどころか、もっと良いことだってある」。テルマのビデオを見てみてください。皆さんの飼っている犬でこんなことができる子はきっといないでしょう。
I bet you never thought you could adopt a dog that was ready to be a champion. I bet you think you have to get some kind of pure bred dog with papers for that. Meet Thelma. She was recently adopted from the shelter I volunteer at. She already excels at Frisbee and I bet she will get better and better very fast. Her adoptive moms both compete in Disk Dog competitions (Frisbee) and I can't wait to see what kind of routine they come up with. I guess the moral to this short blog post is "Don't under estimate dogs that are up for adoption. They are just as good as any other dog..... or better." Check out Thelma's video.
