長い間ブログの更新をしていなくて本当にごめんなさい。実は、田舎に引越しをする準備に忙殺されていたのです！ 私たちはNY市から北に2時間のところにある、Germantownという小さな場所へ引っ越します。友人がそこに17エーカー（約2万坪）の土地と3ベッドルームの家を持っていて、それを借りることにしたのです。
私は今までずーっと都会っ子でした。小学校と中学校の間の5年間を東京で過ごした以外は、ずっとNY市で育ち、自分自身を生粋のニューヨーカーだと思ってきました。実のところ、草っぱらに座ることを怖がっていた時代もあったくらいです。こんなに変わってしまうなんて、可笑しいですね。
きれいな空気、静かで広々した空間が、私は楽しみです。早寝早起きの生活が楽しみです。リードをはずして、私の犬に思い切り草原を走らせ、沼でジャンプさせてあげられるのが楽しみです。
次にブログを更新するときには、新しい家と新しい車をお見せしたいと思います！ 私はいつも運転免許を取らなきゃ、と思いながら延ばし延ばしにしてきました。でも、今やっと免許を取りました。
デイヴィッドは友達と別れるのが寂しいと言っていますが、私は友達がうちに遊びに来てくれることを思うとワクワクしますし、それに私が毎週街に行くときに皆に会えるでしょう。仕事があるので毎週マンハッタンのオフィスに通勤しようと思っています。

| I am very sorry I haven't written a new blog entry in a long time. I have been busy getting ready to move to the country! We are moving two hours north of New York City to a small place called Germantown. We are going to be renting a friend's three bedroom house on 17acres of land. (That is about 20,000 tsubo) I have always been a city girl. I grew up in New York City and although I spent five years in Tokyo during part of elementary and junior high school, I always have considered myself a native New Yorker. There were times in my life where I was actually afraid of sitting on grass. Funny how things change. I'm looking forward to clean air, quiet, and more space. I am looking forward to waking up and going to sleep early. I am looking forward to being able to let my dog off leash to run in the grass and jump in the pond. In the next post, I will show you my new house and my new car!!! I always meant to get my driver's license and always put it off. Now I have one. David says he will miss our friends but I am excited that they will come visit and that I will see them when I am back in the city every week. I plan on commuting in to the office every week to do work. *This picture was not taken on the property that we will be living on but was taken near it.
