友達で、Mountain Fold GalleryのディレクターをしているYuが、来月フォトグラファーのPorts Bishopと結婚します。典型的なバチェラーパーティーをやる代わりに（アメリカでは男性ストリッパーを呼んだりします）、私たちはコニーアイランドのビーチに小旅行をすることにしました。地下鉄でダウンタウンから45分ほどですが、とても簡単に行けます。コニーアイランドはホットドッグの大食い選手権や、遊園地、夏季のミュージックフェスティバル、年に1度のマーメイド・パレード、フリーク・ショウなどで有名です。
私たちは食べ物や、スナック、ドリンクを持って行き、座って噂話に花を咲かせたり、有名俳優や女優のゴシップが書かれているくだらない雑誌を呼んだりして、とても楽しく過ごしました。
My friend Yu, who is the director of Mountain Fold Gallery, is getting married next month to photographer Ports Bishop. Instead of having a typical Bachlorette Party (which in America involves male strippers) we decided to take a trip to the beach at Coney Island.
On the subway, it is about 45 minutes away from downtown, but very easy to get to. Coney Island is famous for it's hot dog eating contest, amusement park rides, summer music festival, annual mermaid parade, and freak shows.
We brought food, snacks, and drinks and sat around and gossiped and read trashy magazines about famous actors and actresses. It was a lot of fun.
